SURROUND YOURSELF WITH NATURAL BEAUTY

The Costa Rican motto of pura vida literally translates to “pure life,” but for the local ticos, it’s a way of life. Charming its visitors with lush landscapes, easy living, and friendly people, Costa Rica is unsurprisingly ranked as one of the world’s most visited destinations. This packed seven-day itinerary combines community, adventure, and relaxation into the perfect spring break.

DAY 1 HIGHLIGHT

Arrive & explore

Welcome to San José! Our local team will escort you from the airport to your hotel, where you’ll meet your fellow travelers for a Spanish crash course and an authentic Welcome Dinner. Your night is free to visit some of the city’s excellent local restaurants, shopping, theaters, and dance clubs.

DAY 2 HIGHLIGHT

Hola, San José

A professional guide will show you around the up-and-coming metropolis of San José on a walking tour that includes stops at the National Museum, National Theater, Plaza de la Democracia, National Park, and more. Craft your own dinner at our Costa Rican cooking class, then get your groove on in a dance class that teaches some the locals’ favorite moves.

DAY 3 HIGHLIGHT

Chasing waterfalls

Snap some amazing photos at a local volcano before a quick stop at a coffee farm for one of the freshest cups you’ve ever had. Then visit the beautiful La Paz Waterfall Garden, where you can roam the country’s largest animal sanctuary and hike to four magnificent waterfalls hidden among the dense forest.

DAY 4 HIGHLIGHT

Make your mark

Costa Rica is big on environmental preservation and ecotourism. Today you can do your part to preserve the country’s biodiversity with your choice of volunteer projects at the Butterfly Garden in the Rio Torres Biocorridor or the Environmental, Cultural, and Recreational Park.

DAY 5 HIGHLIGHT

Siesta time

It’s your day to rest. Spend it relaxing by the pool, traveling to a nearby beach, or exploring more of the city. Optional tours out of San José include white water rafting or jungle zip lining. Our local guides will help you make the perfect plan.

DAY 6 & 7 HIGHLIGHT

Soak up the sun

Tortuga Island, or Turtle Island, is one of two islands that make up the Islas Negritos Biological Reserve off the Nicoya Peninsula. Enjoy a leisurely boat ride to this oasis of sandy beaches and clear water. After getting your fill of sunshine and fresh air, it’s time to freshen up for a farewell dinner and one last night on the town.
